When I was asked to give awrite-up[1], on the topic “Life is Beautiful” I smiled. I believed it was a simple topic with a very simpleproposition[2]. With a firm belief in myself, I tried to pen a few words. I found myself helpless as I hadfiddled[3]away precious time. Apparently[4]aninnocuous[5]proposition made me ponder, which began in alistless[6]way and later took adefinite[7]direction.

As my thought process gained some ground, I could notfathom[8]the depth of this topic norscale[9]the height of it. At one time I thought it could be dealt by filling the write-up withanecdotes[10]of my life and thus proving Life is Beautiful. The very nextinstance[11]made meshudder[12], as a serious topic should be dealtphilosophically[13]. A chain developed with one approach giving way to the other.

“I think, therefore I am.”—Life Philosophically

“Cogito Ergo Sum.” To quote Descartes this phrase translates into “I think therefore I am.” Is life a gift to us by “Him”, or a process, which began with a Big Bang, when the entirecosmos[14]emerged[15]out of a super-explosion[16]? Is life asheer[17]serendipity[18]? Going back to Descartes, life is just what one thinks and I think it is beautiful. Evolution of man from an insignificantmicroorganism[19]to a thinking human being, life seems to be afascinating[20]process.

According to Hindu philosophy, life follows a “Karma[21]” pattern. Every human being gets the life hedeserves[22], proposing anincremental[23]development with good deeds in present life presenting with a better life. Life is beautiful if we do our best within theboundaries[24]and thedestiny[25]takes care of the rest.

“Sweet are the uses ofadversity[26].”—LifePoetically[27]

This approach closely follows the philosophical approach with a beauty of its own. Toappreciate[28]the beauty of life one canrelish[29]the works of artists and writers ofrenaissance[30]period. Be it Da Vinci with theethereal[31]Mona Lisa, Rembrandt or Monet with Water Lilies brought out theessence[32]of life.

One of my favorites William Shakespeare brought out the beauty of life withcomedies[33]andtragedies[34]. Onesonnet[35], which proves Shakespearean essence, is a sonnet from the play “As You like it”. This sonnet brings out the beauty of life inugliness[36],spark[37]in coal and silver lining around a dark cloud.

It is from Act II Scene I Duke Senior, thebanished[38]duke says about sweet uses of adversity. To quote a part of it “Sweet are the uses of adversity, which, like thetoad[39], ugly andvenomous[40], wears yet a precious jewel in his head; and this our lifeexempt[41]from publichaunt[42]finds tongues in trees, books in the runningbrooks[43],sermons[44]in stones and good in everything”, a beautiful piece of poetry which, asks us to see good in everything.

Life through a Winner’s Eye

Life stories of some men make onesuccumb[45]to theiringenuity[46]. Some people have proved and some are proving without a second doubt that they are winners. Anybody, who has read “A Beautiful Mind” or has watched a movie by the same name, can never remain untouched by the courage of aschizophrenic[47]Prof. Nash who overcame the disease by merely accepting the hauntingillusions[48]and getting thecoveted[49]Noble prize for game theory.

Political leaders, Writers, Economists, Musicians and Sportsmen have been abeacon[50]to their fellowmen.

Life is Beautiful

“Laugh and bemerry[51], better the world with a song, better the world with ablow[52]in the teeth of a wrong…” So goes a poem.

Life is as one experiences it. One has to drink deep of every moment. For the present moment is a past moment in the future.

After a seriouscontemplation[53]if one can live acarefree[54]life like Calvin and Hobbes andenrich[55]it every moment then, life is fascinating, wonderful and Very Very Beautiful.

“Cogito Ergo Sum”

Not everyone has passion. Not everyone is moved emotionally by what they do. And, that’sextremely[1]unfortunate. But fortunately, you are not like everyone else.

The winning organizations in every industry are filled withpassionate[2],vocal[3], active people (also, we have more fun doing what we do). To us, it isn’t even really “work” in the sense that itflows[4]naturally and feels more like creative freedom.

I think that truly passionate people are not understood by much of the world. I’ll give you one example: I don’t watch TV anymore. I tell people this, and it feels like many of themmentally[5]file[6]me in acategory[7]of beingweird[8]or sociallydeviant[9]. Most people cannot fathom a world
